Appreciation

Appreciation is something I’ve noticed, somewhat lacking in all aspects of communication. I see it time and time again. While there are some outliers like myself, who strive to make sure people are okay and validated. In the majority of cases, we do not show these feelings or express them. People are, lacking validation and positive affirmations in life. While it may seem trivial or not necessary, the power of showing some appreciation for what people are doing or simply checking in on them goes a long way for mental health and motivation in general.

The long term damage that can arise by not receiving these words of affirmation and appreciation can lead to confusion and low self-esteem. Feeling like anything they try is doomed to fail or “too risky”. I’ve met plenty of people trying as hard as they can to make a name for themselves but are, tied down by the baggage and anxieties of why it won’t work or led astray by unconscious negativity that has compounded in them from a young age.

Simply reaching out and checking in on people and striving to make one person feel better can make everyone involved feel better, and who knows, some kindness can save someone’s life.

To get the full value of joy you must have someone to divide it with. ― Mark Twain

Whilst technology is a part of my life, I additionally share a strong attraction towards videogames and analysing them. Any advice is welcome and appreciated.
